Dragoonmoon Tea Company

For a community this size, Tulsa has been woefully bereft of traditional tea rooms in recent years, but now we have Dragonmoon Tea Co. to fill that niche in an impressive way.

Sara has converted the ground floor of a 1920s brick home, south of Jims Coney Islander on Harvard, just north of 21st Street, on the east side of the street (the old Rhett & Co. location) into a cozy tea room with three dining areas and a small retail area that occupies the former living room.

More than 95 teas, including some hard-to-find white and yellow varieties are offered for sale. Equally impressive is the lineup of sandwiches; salads and desserts, all picture-perfect to look at and even better to eat.

They are serving egg salad, quiche Lorraine, chicken salad sandwich and soup of the day in about 5-10 minutes from the time you sit down. The retail room has curds, honey, jams, cookbooks and teas from all over the world.

Looking at the desserts of gingerbread oak leaf cookies dipped in Belgian chocolate, carrot cupcakes with caramel filling and mascarpone frosting, baked custard dusted with nutmeg, cherry curd tartlets and buttermilk white cupcakes with raspberry filling and Italian meringue coconut frosting is enough to start you salivating.

Dragonmoon has dedicated parking and the walkway and wheelchair accessible ramp in front are hardly noticeable because of the wonderful landscaping. They are open from 9 am to 6 pm Tuesday-Friday and 10 am to 5 pm Saturday. Sandwiches soups, salads and quiche are served 11 am to 2:30 pm.
